The Welcome Home Grant is a federally funded assistance program through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati. It provides up to $20,000 in grant funds, applied directly to your down payment and closing costs at the time of purchase. This is not a loan. When you follow the program guidelines, you never need to repay these funds.
You don't have to be a first-time homebuyer. You may be eligible if:
First-time buyers must complete an approved homebuyer education course before closing.
Funds become available Monday, April 6, at 8:00 a.m. ET, and they're awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until they're gone.This program runs out of money every year. The buyers who secure funding are the ones who are already prepared when the window opens.
